The campaign which was launched by Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, Honorable Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India and ran from October to December, 2021, involved State Tobacco Control Cells and National Tobacco Quitline Centres. It was intended to provide a platform to tobacco users to share their narrative of quitting or attempting to quit through a self-made video, which could subsequently be used to motivate others to quit tobacco in the future. A total of 137 videos were received from across the country in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam and English, out of which the top 6 videos selected by an independent jury.
Tobacco is a public health problem. The country needs many champions who can assist the user to quit tobacco.
